As part of our commitment to addressing the mental health and well-being of refugee teenagers, the WELLTEENS Project/2023-2-IT03-KA220-YOU-000176636/Erasmus+ partners convened for the 1st Transnational Meeting on April 10โ€“11, 2024, in Barcelona, Spain. This pivotal event was hosted by our esteemed partner, GESEME, and marked the beginning of our collaborative efforts to achieve the projectโ€™s goals.

Meeting Highlights

During the two-day session, partners from Italy, Poland, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Spain, and Ukraine came together to:

  • Discuss Challenges: Examined the unique issues faced by refugee teenagers, particularly those affected by the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, ensuring these insights align with project objectives.
  • Define Objectives: Reaffirmed our mission to create free and accessible psychoeducational tools, including videos and a self-help app, to support trauma coping, emotional resilience, and a sense of belonging.
  • Strategize for Success: Outlined the roadmap for upcoming activities, deliverables, and expected outcomes to ensure the projectโ€™s smooth progression.

A Collaborative Vision

The WELLTEENS project brings together a team of dedicated professionals with extensive experience in youth support, mental health, and social inclusion. By pooling expertise across our partnership, we are setting the foundation for impactful resources that will empower refugee teenagers and foster a sense of community and belonging.

Looking Ahead

With the first meeting successfully completed, we are now focused on implementing the projectโ€™s planned activities. The coming months will see the development of the psychoeducational app and video series, designed to address the unique needs of Generation Z teenagers with refugee backgrounds.

The WELLTEENS Project is a testament to the power of collaboration and innovation, and we are excited to take these next steps together.
